Intricate cast iron Coalbrookdale bowl. This dish was designed by German architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1781 – 1841) for the Prussian Royal Foundry. It features the same frieze of hippocamps and mermen that appears on the iron balustrade for Schlossbruke in Berlin (1819-1824).
